The influence of menus in catering establishments on a sustainable development of tourism

Food accompanies a tourist's stay in a destination from the very beginning to the very end and significantly influences the overall travel experience. However, gastronomic experiences also have a significant impact on the environment, as food has to be produced, transported, and processed. This thesis addresses the environmental issue of tourists' diet in detail. The main purpose is to comprehensively approach the problem from several perspectives. Specifically, the thesis has four objectives: 1) to quantify the amount of food consumed globally in tourism and its environmental requirements; 2) to identify the potential drivers behind excessive negative pressure on the environment; 3) to evaluate the level of environmental sustainability of selected European urban destinations and 4) to consider possible opportunities for the sustainable development of a destination in relation to its gastronomic offer. In terms of theoretical framework, the thesis uses the concept of time geography and the theory of planned behaviour to demonstrate the importance of the role of catering facilities in the environmental sustainability of a destination. Development of environmental friendly and sustainable tourism in Nigeria

Developing an environmental friendly and sustainable tourism in Nigeria is realistic. Compare to many European countries, it has been noted by different researchers that Nigeria is making below her revenue potential despite the abundance of natural resources and heritage location. Hence this study analysed the development of environmental friendly and sustainable tourism in Nigeria, considering four specific objectives, which are to evaluate the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondent, to examine the environmental challenges facing sustainable tourism, to evaluate the population of tourist in the study area and to assess the perceived ways of achieving environmental friendly and sustainable ecotourism in the study area. The study data was majorly primary data collected through a well structure questionnaire administered to 363 respondents from visitors of the tourist centres in Lagos state Nigeria. The results of the study were represented in frequency, percentage and charts. The result revealed higher female respondents (52.1%), students (36.9%), single (73.3%) and holders of tertiary education (93.7%). Likewise, the environmental challenges facing sustainable tourism was noted as flood (42.1%), deforestation (48.2%), indiscriminate disposal of waste (43.8%), waste generation (46.3%), inadequate toilet facilities, poor traffic control (41.9%), destruction of Biodiversity (47.4%), bush burning (44.4%), poverty (39.7%), lack of participation by host community (55.9), none involvement of community in the planning stage (53.4%), lack of support and coordination amongst the various government and non–government agencies (52.7%), poor road network to tourist location (44.4%), and Insecurity (62%), among others. Also evaluating the population of tourist, it was low, and the recorded perceived ways of achieving environmental friendly and sustainable ecotourism was provision of adequate infrastructure, attention of government, creating awareness, promotional activities, solving environmental challenges facing tourism, promoting corporation between government and the community, carrying the community along in planning stage and to participate in the early stage, proper management, sensitizing the community of the benefit of nature conservation, eradication of poverty and good security.
Comparison of the management plan of Protected landscape area Bohemian Paradise and the development strategy of the Bohemian Paradise Geopark in terms of approach to nature and landscape protection

The thesis is focused on the topic of nature conservation in relation to tourism and its impacts in the region of the Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area. The thesis examines the relationship between the Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area and the Bohemian Paradise Geopark and their mutual cooperation in dealing with topics of tourism and its impacts. The method of case study and data triangulation is used for the research. The theoretical basis for the study is document analysis, including a comparison of strategic documents such as the management plan of Protected Landscape Area and the development strategy of Geopark. Findings from semi-structured interviews with tourism and nature conservation professionals are complemented by data on visitor numbers to the area, results from a survey of local residents' perceptions of tourism, and insights gained from field observations. The main contribution of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of the situation in the region of Bohemian Paradise, including a detailed description of the impacts of tourism and outlining possible solutions to excessive visitor numbers. Sustainable tourism in the Třeboň Region from the perspective of local actors

Tourism is a source of livelihood all over the world. Tt is no different in Třeboňsko either. However, the development of tourism cannot continue at the same pace as before. It is necessary to realize the limits of the territories on which tourism happpens and start not only thinking, but also behaving more sustainably although it may not be easy at the beginning. Tourism doesn´t affects only the economy of the area but also the local people and nature. Overall, it brings economic, social, environmental and also cultural impacts to the area in which it happens. The area of Třeboňsko is known for its preserved nature in the Třeboňsko PLA. It is mainly thanks to this nature that it is the destination of many tourists every year, who have a choice of many forms of sustainable tourism here. This work deals with the tourism sector, sustainability and sustainable development of tourism. Furthermore, sustainable forms of tourism offered by Třeboň Region are listed here . The thesis analyzes the opinion and approach of residents to the development of tourism in Třeboňsko, but also of other local actors, namely the city of Třeboň, the PLA Třeboňsko, the Třeboňsko Microregion and the Třeboňsko MAS. The main goal of the work is to evaluate the cooperation between these actors and the perception of the sustainability of tourism by the local residents of the Třeboň region. Based on the evaluation of the questionnaire survey, the processing of information from the strategic documents of local actors and the study of the literature, measures are proposed in the work that will support the development of tourism in the Třeboň region in a sustainable form.

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to identify the consumption behavior of visitors to the tourist area of Znojmo, to segment the market on the demand side and to propose changes in the consumption behavior of a selected segment for the sus-tainable development of tourism in the destination. The theoretical part is devoted to literary research, which defines the basic concepts such as destination, consum-er behavior, segmentation and sustainable development. The practical part described the destinations of Znojmo and Podyjí and then evaluated the data from quantitative research. Based on the performed segmentation, segments suitable for proposals related to the sustainable development of the destination were selected.
Komunitní turismus na ostrově Guimaras (Filipíny): perspektiva návštěvníků

This bachelor's thesis is based on a five-week internship in the Philippines (Guimaras Island) in April / May 2019 mediated by the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies. The work presents the island of Guimaras and functioning community-based tourist areas on the island. It further focuses on the attitude of visitors to this island in the issue of community tourism and their preferences or willingness to participate in this type of alternative travel. The evaluation is based on a questionnaire survey of 112 respondents as well as semi-structured interviews, which took place directly with representatives of certified CBRT on the island. The results show that although tourists are willing to participate in this type of tourism, the offer does not fully meet their travel requirements, this means there is therefore room for improvement and expansion of CBRT services. Finally, the requirements and shortcomings from the perspective of tourists on the issue of community tourism on the island of Guimaras in the Philippines are summarized.
Prácheňsko region - rural tourism in the context of sustainability

This bachelor thesis examines the historical development and current use of the Prácheň region through rural tourism activities in the context of sustainability. The thesis includes an evaluation of the products and services offered and the evolution of the intensity of the use of the area by tourism. The irritation of local inhabitants towards tourists is investigated and using the Defert's tourism function it is calculated which villages express the greatest intensity of tourist activities and which the least. The paper is based on a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey was conducted in February and March 2022 in 7 selected localities. Subsequently, the most important questions were evaluated in the thesis, commented verbally and analyzed in a graph. Furthermore, the hypotheses in relation to the dependencies were examined and commented statistically. Based on the open questions, suggestions for further use in line with sustainability were developed.

Change of strategic communication of the capital Prague in the field of tourism in connection with the effects of overturism and Covid-19

The aim of the presented diploma thesis was to find and interpret key elements of the change in strategic communication of the Prague capital city implemented through its official destination management organization Prague City Tourism, Ltd., and to analyze the style and direction of communication in 2016-2019, when the wave of overturism grew not only in the Czech capital, but also on an European scale, and communication after 2020, when a new Conception of inbound tourism of the Prague capital city was created in cooperation with the destination management organization Prague City Tourism, Ltd. The theoretical part deals with the definition of strategic communication with a specific focus on the tourism industry. The practical part is focused on the reasons that led to the decision to change the strategic communication of the Prague capital city in the field of inbound tourism, so that it becomes sustainable in the years to come. Furthermore, the results achieved with the launch of initial projects, which are to lead to the stabilization of domestic and foreign tourism in the Prague capital city, so that residents, business subjects and the city can benefit from them.
Opportunities to Develop Tourism in Protected Areas

The thesis is devoted to the issue of tourism development in areas with specific protection. Due to the massive development of tourism, it is necessary to focus on its negative effects, which should be avoided. The performance is therefore sustainable tourism development, which proclaims the idea of preserving existing tourism attractions to future generations. Based on field research, structured interviews and questionnaires with tourism stakeholders identified the status of tourism in protected natural areas in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, the proposed options for tourism development in these areas. A case study is focused on the tourist neglected protected landscape area of Iron Mountain.
